We want to make sure that every social action we take in Cape Verde is truly focused on the important issues. There have been many initiatives lately that have bought the matters we are particularly motivated by to the forefront of our attention. An example of this and as a part of this dedicated drive, we recently acted on the need of a local bible school in Sal, Escola Bíblica Infantil Galileu, for clothes, school materials, toys and books. Thanks to the many donations made by our supporters and friends over the last few months, we were able to help them out. Donations such as these have been generously provided by the many clients who visit our Resorts whilst on holiday, as well as the amazing support that the Foundation receives from people across Europe.
On the 2nd December, volunteers Shanika Ocean and Jassy Sousa visited the school at around 10am to start handing out the donations to 77 very excited children. MELIÃ Dunas Beach Resort & Spa generously provided refreshments for each child, which included a variety of pizzas, sandwiches, cakes and soft drinks.
The school takes care of disadvantaged children aged between 1 to 16 years, who live in and around the areas of Espargos, Santa Maria and Palha Verde.
