The TRG Foundation has continued its charitable work supporting a local nursery school with its diploma presentation party. The Jardim De OMCV nursery school in Espargos presented their children with a Diploma Certificate, as well as a goody bag supplied by the TRG foundation. As part of the event, the Melia Tortuga Children’s club team were in attendance to provide the entertainment, with clowns, party food and plenty of Cape Verdean singing and dancing. The TRG Foundation has supported the school previously with a donation of €5000 to help with their running costs, which is part of our commitment to helping local schools and communities with a particular focus on young children and education. In attendance at the event was The Resort Group Chairman, Rob Jarrett, and he took the time to reiterate TRG’s commitment to Cape Verde stating “The Resort Group and its foundation are fully committed to the long term development of Cape Verde, and whilst the development of touristic and commercial opportunities is key, we also recognise that there is work that we can support in terms of community projects, social development and in particular, education for the future generations of Cape Verde. Plus, days like today are a great way for us to thank the people of Cape Verde for their support and it’s a privilege for me to be here today.” Also in attendance at the event, was special VIP guest Kerry Katona. She is currently on holiday with her family, staying at our 5-star Melia Tortuga Resort. The Atomic Kitten singer was there to support the event, and was enjoying the occasion as she chatted with the children and joined in with the celebrations. The TRG Foundation has continued its charitable work supporting a local nursery school with its diploma presentation party.
