It has been an excellent year for the Foundation with each department organising their own individual events to raise money. And we have two more to tell you about, as well as the grand total for 2015.
Terence and his team held a brilliant evening at Bar 5 in Derby just before Christmas.
An auction style event took place with live singers and an open mic to entertain the guests, along with highly sought-after raffle prizes.
Wristbands for the event were £5 each, which helped to boost funds – the team sold them throughout offices, to friends and family.
The items to be auctioned were contributed from several places and we’re incredibly grateful to everybody who made a donation. Without further ado, the prizes and winners were….
A signed and framed Liverpool shirt donated by Derby County Ladies Football Club
Won by Liam Berry
A weekend stay in the Peak District donated by Denehurst Guest House (run by Ken and Cindy Ravenhill)
Won by Charlotte Benbow
iPads donated by Roda Telecoms
Won by Terence Woodhouse and Tanita Merchant
Holiday to Cape Verde donated by The Resort Group PLC, a signed Derby County football shirt donated by Derby County Football Club, a Mini iPad donated by Central Technologies and a meal for 2 at The Wonky Table donated by Holly Faulkner, owner of The Wonky Table
All won by Aaron, owner of Weekend Offender
A large bottle of Champagne from the winners of the BARCLAYS PREMIERSHIP donated by SkyBet
Won by Christine Shaw
One week stay at a luxury apartment in Spain donated by Andrew McLennaghan
Won by Maya Chotai and family
Other auction items and raffle prizes included beauty products, spa products, bottles of wine, a car valet from Caralot, a hotel stay in York and a collection of designer men’s clothes donated by Weekend Offender.
Congratulations to everyone and thank you again to the companies and people who donated our prizes.
It was also a great show at the Christmas party photo booth as revellers streamed in to get their pictures taken with the fantastic props on offer and the results were hilarious. Afterwards, they could buy these great shots and who wouldn’t want to? Especially as the money was going straight to the Foundation. This was the second part of the Revenue Team fundraising efforts, so all the donations from their wonderful coffee morning in December also went towards their amazing total of over £580!
We’ve had a great year of fundraising here at the Foundation. Each and every person on every single team has gone above and beyond to get involved. The final totals are in and it is just overwhelming to see how much the teams have collectively raised. Each individual effort is absolutely worth it when you have the opportunity to see what this money does for the islands and people of Cape Verde.
Sales Team (car wash) – £277
Rachael and Dawn Team FRPS2 (PJ day) – £304.12
Completions and Finance Team (Tuck shop/Breakfast sales) – £925.54 (ongoing)
Michelle and Tanita Team FRPS2 (Charity night out) – £1,146
Revenue Team (Photo booth/Coffee morning) – £587.24
Terence Team FRPS2 (Charity auction/Raffle) – £2,700
This incredible effort came to a grand total of £5,939!
Thank you to all the teams and everyone involved in making this a great year for the Foundation. We are committed to making a difference and can’t wait to get fundraising in 2016.
