image1The Youster family love Cape Verde and have visited MELIÃ Tortuga Beach Resort eight times already so it came as no surprise to us when they wanted to kindly help the Foundation.

Mr and Mrs Youster, along with their two sons – Joshua, 9 years old and Marcus, 11 years old – decided to bring a suitcase full of donations with them on this visit and it was full of goodies for the children. It included a Real Madrid football shirt, an England shirt and an Adidas Predator top, all of which the boys had loved wearing when they were younger. They also went straight to the shops when they learnt they would be making their ninth trip, buying a whole array of things – arts and crafts, toys, nappies, shorts, shoes, writing books, crayons and many more essentials that the children need. Marcus even agreed to let us keep the suitcase – a very thoughtful act.

The two boys love their trips to Cape Verde, where Joshua enjoys the pools and, of course, the sunshine, while Marcus is a big fan of the waterpark on MELIÃ Dunas. They were more than happy to donate and when asked about the children, Joshua said he hoped “it will make them very happy”. Marcus was also very proud that he had recently been studying awareness of Africa at his school, for which he chose to write about Cape Verde.

The family keep up to date on the Foundation through the newsletter but it was after watching the recent video on The Resort Group website that the family were motivated to help.
